Admission Requirements
A. ND Nursing
The minimum entry requirement into ND General Nursing Programme is five (5) credit passes in WASC, SSCE, NECO, or GCE O'Level at not more than two (2) sittings. The subject combination must include Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. Admission should be through Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB); that is by obtaining specified Institutional JAMB cut off mark into the programme that will be determined on yearly basis.
B. HND Nursing
Applicants with the following qualifications will be considered for admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Nursing Programme:
i. National Diploma (ND) in General Nursing Programme
ii. A minimum of CGPA of 2.0 (pass) at the National Diploma Level
N/B - The institution may conduct screening of successful candidates for the programme
C. Basic Nursing
The minimum entry requirement into Basic Nursing Programme is five (5) credit passes in WASC, SSCE, NECO, NAFDEC or GCE O' Level at not more than two (2) sittings. The subject combination must include Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
D. Basic Midwifery
The minimum entry requirement into Basic Midwifery/ Nursing Programme is five (5) credit passes in WASC, SSCE, NECO, NAFDEC or GCE O' Level at not more than two (2) sittings. The subject combination must include Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
E. Community Midwifery
Candidate applying for community Midwifery must have four (4) credits in English language, biology & any two of mathematics, chemistry or physics in WAEC and NECO at not more than two (2) sittings, but one (1) sitting in NABTEB.
The combination of WAEC & NECO, WAEC & WAEC, or NECO & NECO is acceptable. But NABTEB cannot be combined with WAEC or NECO or another NABTEB.
F. Community Nursing
Candidate applying for community nursing must have four (4) credits in English language, biology & any two of mathematics, chemistry or physics in WAEC and NECO at not more than two (2) sittings, but one (1) sitting in NABTEB.
The combination of WAEC & NECO, WAEC & WAEC, or NECO & NECO is acceptable.
But NABTEB cannot be combined with WAEC or NECO or another NABTEB.
G. Post Basic Nursing/Midwifery
The minimum entry requirement into Basic Nursing Programme is five (5) credit passes in WASC, SSCE, NECO, NAFDEC or GCE O' Level at not more than two (2) sittings. The subject combination must include Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
The candidate should present evidence of registration with Council and possess 2 years’ post-graduation experience and current license.
